The Department of Geology at Kansas State University provides analytical services in Petrology and Mineralogy including State-of-art X-ray diffraction instrument, Raman microscope, hand-held XRF and an High-resolution multichannel thin section scanner.

Through its collaborations and customers, the Petrography and Mineralogical Lab is actively engaged in the field of igneous/metamorphic petrology, tectonics, economic geology, planetary exploration and green-energy transition.
